DAY TRIP - KHMER VILLAGE

10:00 AM - Bà Om Pond, Trà Vinh

Arrive at Bà Om Pond, one of Trà Vinh’s most iconic cultural landmarks. From here, take a traditional tuk-tuk and explore the surrounding Khmer village.

As you travel through the village, admire colourful murals painted along the streets. The artwork portrays Khmer culture, traditional customs, and everyday life in Southern Vietnam, offering a fascinating glimpse into the community’s heritage.

11:00 AM - Meet Local Khmer Families

Your first stop is the home of Mrs. Nary, where you can observe the traditional preparation of local rice cakes and learn about family recipes passed down through generations.

Continue to Mr. Sane’s family, where you will discover how cốm dẹp (flattened young rice), a traditional Khmer specialty, is prepared. Enjoy a cup of tea, sample local treats, and chat with the family to learn more about their daily lives and traditions.

Continue your journey to Mr. An’s house, home to a renowned Khmer artist in the village. Discover his artwork and hear stories about Khmer artistic traditions and local culture.

Your final village visit is to Mrs. Thone’s family, where you can see traditional bamboo handicrafts being made by hand. Continue to the Khmer community house to experience traditional Khmer music and a cultural blessing ceremony at Lò Gạch Pagoda.

12:30 PM - Khmer Heritage and Local Cuisine

Continue exploring the area by bicycle or tuk-tuk.

Visit Âng Pagoda, an ancient Khmer temple with a history of approximately 900 years. Learn about its architecture, religious traditions, and significance to the local Khmer community.

Next, visit Bà Om Pond and discover the fascinating legend behind this sacred and historic site. Continue to the Khmer Museum to learn more about the history, culture, customs, and artistic heritage of the Khmer people in Southern Vietnam.

Guests may optionally enjoy a delicious lunch featuring authentic Khmer local specialties. Lunch is optional and not included in the tour price. After lunch, continue exploring Trà Vinh City and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this culturally diverse Mekong Delta destination.

3:00 PM - Departure

Depart Trà Vinh and return to Ho Chi Minh City, or continue your journey to your next destination, such as Vĩnh Long or Cần Thơ.
